Jamie Blackburn brings extensive experience providing technical solutions for research, clinical, and commercial clients by demonstrating leadership for the complete development and implementation of enterprise enabled programs. He has helped organizations identify their goals & needs and then create a platform that delivers. He uses methodologies as a core systematic approach to ensure that the business, not technology, is kept at the center of development. Previously, he was Director for SciMed Solutions, Vice President of Learning for both 3DCommunications, an FDA communications company, as well as Synaptis, a knowledge transfer company located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Jamie was a former senior director of GlaxoSmithKline’s IT team, where he led key enterprise-wide interactive programs to drive top-line revenue for brand teams.

Carla has been with iAdvantage from its launch in 1999 and has detailed knowledge of every facet of eStudy and the development process. With more than 30 years of IT experience spanning multiple industries, she works tirelessly to accommodate the software needs of our many clients. Carla is well versed in hardware and software development and maintenance. She has more than 20 years of experience in EPA GLP and computer validation requirements for systems used in GLP data management and reporting.

Daniel Thompson

Daniel brings technical support to the company in several different areas of Information Technology. He is CompTIA A+ certified and also holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. He has gained experience throughout his years of collaboratively working with technology. Troubleshooting, collaboration, and innovation have grown to become his biggest passions.

Dr. Thompson founded Global Ag, the parent of iAdvantage Software, Inc. in 1982 following a distinguished career in both academia at the University of Kentucky and North Carolina State University, and in the commercial world with CIBA-Geigy (now Syngenta). Dr. Thompson possesses a unique understanding of the researcher’s needs. A decisive, results-oriented, bottom-line leader, Dr. Thompson provides the passionate entrepreneurial drive behind iAdvantage Software, which he founded in 1999.

Dr. Thompson received his undergraduate degree from N.C. State University and his Ph.D. from University of Illinois

Les Thompson

Vice President of Business Development

Les has been involved in agriculture and horticulture for over 40 years. His involvement started at a young age on the original American Ag Services field station in Wilson, NC. He moved on to Landscape Design at North Carolina State University. Les has remained active in the horticulture industry of North Carolina in roles that involved sales, design, installation, client acquisition and retention, and business ownership. He brings over 25 years of experience forging and retaining relationships with clients, vendors, outsourced contractors, and colleagues.

Subject Matter Expert

Kevin is a seasoned user of iAdvantage Software, eStudy Manager and eNotebook. This experience, plus his strong life science background (Ph.D., University of Illinois, and life science postdoctoral research) and industry affiliations make him an invaluable Subject Matter Expert. For 20+ years, Kevin has been involved in Research and Development under GLP guidelines in plant science, environmental science, and efficacy of chemical and biological products, some with GMO materials. He is an invaluable resource for beta testing of technical improvements for eStudy software.

Kelly Chapman

Development Manager

Within the iAdvantage team, Kelly serves as a bridge between business, science, and technology. Her diverse agricultural/life science experience includes crops, livestock, and business management. Her career has involved R&D and support roles for Dow, DuPont, Bayer, Global Ag, and iAdvantage Software. She is vested in continually vetting new technology, including software, hardware, and the connectivity of multiple devices, for improved efficiency in R&D and commercialization.

Kelly holds a Masters’ degree in Plant Breeding & Genetics from North Carolina State University.
